Hi. Welcome to our trainings. My name is [INAUDIBLE]. I'm at Intel lead architect for Telco infrastructure. In this session, we will be covering basic introduction on communication service providers and how do we apply cloud principles to the vertical. So as this basic introduction, we'll just say that communication service providers provides connectivity services to customers to communicate with other people or get access to other information data services content at a global scale. So whenever these customers are connected locally, using the [INAUDIBLE] network, they want access to all those other services [INAUDIBLE].. This needs to be done at higher quality and lower costs than what those customers could do this on their own. Even the basic statement is challenged these days by over-the-top service providers and the development from the internet services. And it's also good to say that telecommunications companies, being normal commercial entities, need to also create return on investment, because they are all, in the meantime-- since initially, this was national own companies. Now it's all privatized. So they need to do that by sharing the infrastructure access to experts, using those mobile protocols for interconnectivity. And as long as the whole service is provided appropriately, customers will be paying their subscription or some other way of paying, and they don't necessarily care how exactly communication service providers are delivering all that. So as a simple overview of what kind of communication services can we provided, we have this diagram explaining how there is vacant services provided from the national data centers. And then there is a very far-reaching distributed network, depending on the country size, geographical relation of geographic distribution of population, and a number of other parameters. It will come regional data centers. It will be Edge network, and it will have a Access network. And here, we have it, for example, to connect a wireless, wired line, and cable services, normally provided by multi-service operators. So this is how this thing, overall, looks like after traditional development. And now we are looking at how will cloud principles be applied to that. So it already happened in the centralized data centers, where there is the cloud [INAUDIBLE] running. And now we are looking at how can we have this distributed network also use this type of a qualification and how are we going to do these distributed cloud over multiple locations, from Access Edge and regional data centers, to get to more agility and more flexibility in providing these services. In this case, it will be done as software elements running on [INAUDIBLE] platform, fully distributed. And this will now be done by how it was traditionally done with physical appliances.
