[MUSIC] The participants, followers, and fans of our MOOC for intercultural management, to all of you who've stayed with us so far, thank you very much for joining us on this incredible adventure on intercultural management. [MUSIC] >> We had a great time sharing with you our passion and our perspectives on the core of our business school, culture for business. [MUSIC] >> We know we challenge you a lot by providing a lot of information in a short period of time. So, we will wrap it up for you, and we will make a quick summary of the main things you have learned so far. [MUSIC] >> Wait a minute. Now, here you go. At the beginning of our adventure, we introduced you to the basic concept of culture by Edgar Schein. And then presented two major cross cultural management studies. The Hofstede and the Globe Studies. This helped you recognize the culture in which we have grown up and identify cultural patterns of countries in which you have been or will be living in, in the future. Afterwards, we focused on your skills and abilities. What is your level of cultural sensitivity and cultural intelligence? We discussed these concepts because you have to start to know yourself before being able to adjust to other cultural contexts. In the weeks that followed, we provided you with detailed insights into intercultural management. Discussing the various aspects of working with others in an intercultural environment. We understood that managing diversity is key to being a successful leader in every situation, and in particular, in an intercultural environment. Barrett introduced us to the concept of intercultural encounters. And the MBTI provided us with the universal framework to help recognize and manage difference work style. We discovered the main challenges of collaboration in an international team. And finally, how different leadership styles are perceived in different zones of the world. We then introduced the topic of intercultural human resource management. It became very clear that culture and cultural differences matter when we need to manage a global workforce. We outlined the major challenges and opportunities of global mobility when discussing various aspects of the lives of expatriates. We also showed you how culture influences recruitment and selection, the management of talent and the design of global reward systems. We then discussed with you the different dimensions of international marketing decisions related to product, promotion, place and price. The trade-off between standardization and adaptation regarding these four piece is the heart of international marketing decisions. Using many examples from business practice, we realize that adaptation happens much more often than you would imagine. However, standardization is still happening. Our module provided some guidelines on how to solve the trade-off issue. Finally, we discussed several challenges inherent in intercultural business negotiations. In particular, we explained how negotiation goals, approaches and styles vary across cultures. How these differences affect negotiation processes and outcomes. And how these differences may be managed. One simple, yet important aspect to consider is that in many cases, people need to use a foreign language in intercultural negotiations. We concluded by discussing the advantages of multi as opposed to mono-cultural communication teams. [MUSIC] >> Within this MOOC on intercultural management, we have concentrated on one dimension of diversity only, on culture, the culture of business. But we should not forget that there are other dimensions of diversity such as gender or age, sexuality and also that personality may make a difference. So culture was just the first step in getting to know how to cope with diversity in our working life. >> If you want to find out more, I would like to introduce you to our master in management which is centered on creating intercultural talent. During the two years of our master program, you will get to know the European dimensions that impact organizational decisions.
