[MUSIC] When you get down to writing your research proposal, you should be aware of its content and structure. Ironically, there are no fixed names of sections. So we suggest starting from the content and moving to possible names of the respective sections. Here's the content. You open the proposal with stating the topic of the research, explain its necessity, you set its goals and objectives. Then, you gather all the background information about previous research. You state the gap you're going to fill and demonstrate significance of your project. You can also state novelty of your research in the same section, if there is no separate one for it. The next step is the description of work you're going to do, justification of methods, and explanation of experiments. Finally, you are suppose to proceed to the broader impact of the project, and some future directions of the research. The above mentioned basis of information can be found under the following headings. So the topic and purpose of the proposed research can be titled as aims or introduction. It could be also research objective or goals. All these names highlight this or that aspect of the grant maker finds most essential. Then, background of the proposed research can be addressed as background, or previous studies, or significant rationale, or motivation. Again, the name demonstrates the focus of the section. If novelty is presented in separate one the names are quite limited and diverse. It's innovation or novelty. The proposed work comes under such headings as methods or research designing methods. Where it probably work planned, experimental design or proposed work. And finally, the importance of the proposal research can be called as significance or broader impact or future directions. Though the list is quite long, it's not exhaustive. See, every time you pan to write a proposal, you should consider the directions of the grant quite carefully. Still these names can help you to work though other grand proposals or prepare your research for submission to several grant makes. Speaking about writing grant proposals to several funds simultaneously, we should warn you about risks. See, though the research you describe does not change, the structure and the directions may differ significantly. It could be wise to involve several team members into this work. To each team member, prepare a draft for different organizations, so they do not mix up the directions. The bulk of information about the research should be shared by team members, but draft preparation should be done by a particular person responsible for this particular program. It is also a good idea to peer read the drafts afterwards.
