[MUSIC] Good afternoon Rafael. >> Hi Lemlem. >> Very nice to see you. >> Yeah, good to see you again. >> So here at the Institute of Global Health, we've produced a few MOOKS, for example, the MOOK on Zika, Ebola, and now we're about to release another one. Could you speak to us on that? >> Yeah, absolutely. So, you're right. The number of books having produced out there in Coursera. So this time, we are bringing in a new book titled Global Health at the Human-Animal-Ecosystem Interface. This was a big challenge and a big effort because we really needed, again, large number of activists and expertise to contribute to this book. First of all, I would like to say that this book has been developed thanks to the work of our team here at the of Global Health. So he's at. Your participation of course and many other colleagues at the of Global Health. But this is really a whole partnership and a collaboration with other institutions. So in Paris has made a great and contribution. So excellent collaboration with them. On the other hand we have in Canada, so University of Montreal. Particularly in the faculty of veterinary medicine. And then again in Paris we have who's been also key and crucial for the development of this project. But I would say more so this is kind of the consortium of institutions, so the core. But then besides this consortium, we had more than 30 experts from other institutions in Geneva, in Paris, and in Italy. Internationally who's been contributing. So here in Geneva, the WHO, so the World Health Organization, has been key, and has contributed with different experts to this MOOC, and many others. >> Great. Well, I'm particularly interested in finding out a little bit more information for people out there that are interested in following this particular MOOC. Could you speak to the structure of this MOOC for example? Is it, how many modules, sections? >> Absolutely. Yeah, sure, sure. That's a key point and I'm sure that students there are really willing to better understand how the MOOC is organized and what's the content so just to make it very short. So very briefly, we have in charge of the intersection where we basically talk about what is health. Why do global challenges [INAUDIBLE] >> Hm-mm. >> And why do they need this integrate that purchase to health. Next weeks, we go specifically we address specific questions in Global Health. We talk about Emerging Infectious Diseases, which is at major in shares in Global health when we talk about human animal interactions. Then we took about AMR's antimicrobial resistance which is the top priority in the agenda. Neglect tropical diseases, snake bites we really want to break snake bites to this smoke. And then a number of discussion on normative opportunities for one health. I just want to say that as I said we have six sections in this smoke. >> Yeah. >> But one very thing is that This is the content today. But, we really want this move to be, to keep evolving over time. So, that's key for us. And we have make sure that we have a number of additional videos that we will keep, that we'll keep updating our. So the six sections that I mentioned before are focused I would say in on risk on health risks but we already have a content that we will keep adding gradually. Particularly, starting from bottom where we launch the book. Second update of the book. We will be looking on health promotion opportunities and positive aspects so not only praise but also opportunities for health promotions. Very active and very dynamic book. I want you to suggest and say that. >> And in terms of time on average how many hours per week could a participant expect to dedicate in following the mook? >> In general was assume that students should invest about three hours of work by week. Most of the work implies watching. Video lectures. >> Okay. >> Video lectures are very diverse in this MOOC, so some of them are more traditional where you have the expert presenting, then other are more interviews, then we have videos that have been filmed in the fields, those in the lab. So, quite a big diversity of expert and also four months of, presentation I would say. Besides the video there are activities. So, students at the end of each video lecture they have the opportunity to basically test themselves and to see if they learned. >> Self-assessment, yeah. >> Absolutely. So, we have quizzes. Readings, of course, and discussions. That's key, as you know. Communities and discussions within this community is key in the books. And we'll try to bring to these discussions, that the community of students, of course, you are very much welcome to join the discussions. But of course, we will make sure that we coordinators but also the experts that have taken part in this MOOC will be involved in the discussions. And you will have the opportunity to interact with them. >> And an exam, actually would be part of this as well, so it's something that potential participants should anticipate. >> Yeah, absolutely and basically all these activities so that they are following the lecture plus doing these multiple choice questions at the end of each lecture, discussions etc. Will be key for preparing this students for the final test. So, there is a final exam, there is a final test. It's basically a quiz, a final quiz. And this quiz, they have to pass, you will have to pass the quiz to obtain this certificate because I assume many students are not only interested in following the lectures and downloading the videos, etc., but also obtaining an official certificate by the University of Geneva. So, passing the exam is key for that. >> Okay, so there's a new twist or a new element that's been added to this MOOC, for example, for your top performers, let's say, or top students. I think it falls maybe under the line of the global flipped classroom. >> Yes. Yes. >> Could you speak a little bit to that? because that's a new concept. >> Yeah, it's here. Global flipped classrooms. They already exist. But the idea is we wanted to bring this to the MOOC in the sense that. We would like that some of you, some of the students that perform particularly well in the course, would like to give the opportunity to a very small group. So basically, six students will have the opportunity to come to Geneva, to come to Switzerland during the summer, so in July 2017. They will take part in an advanced training program that will be happening in one week, so sorry, five days. So five days, so it will be an extended opportunity to go deeper into the content of the book. Also having the opportunity to meet some of the experts in their screens, in their computers. And also work specifically on some problems they have identified in their communities and their countries, and trying to implement, trying to develop solutions. They think they could implement to solve this problem, so that's quite new. Of course this will be free- >> Yes. >> Free of cost so we'll be covering the cost for these students performing particularly well- >> Okay. >> To come to Geneva. But all the details of the selection process, of the type of activities they should be doing- >> Yes. >> Will be provided in the platform and corset and google actively inform the students in the move on how all this will happen. And that's the whole idea. >> Great, well we look forward to potentially meeting some of the participants here in Geneva at the institute of global health. >> Absolutely >> I know at the student in the institute that are doing pht also follow the moves that are. Produced and continue to be produce. So this is very exciting for all of us. >> Absolutely, so we encourage all of you to follow the book, to enjoy the book. We are very happy to hear from you, if there's some elements that you would like to add us we said. This would keep us moving, so if there's a gaps and elements >> The content that we think that we should add, we may have the opportunity to do this over time. And of course I encourage you to take this MOOC very seriously because this will open the door and this will give you the opportunity to come to Geneva to meet us and to work with us at least for five days. I thank you very much. >> Great, thank you. >> Thank you, Lenmon. >> Norris. [MUSIC]
