All right. >> All right. >> Okay, you ready? >> Ready? >> All right, let's go. [CROSSTALK] >> Yeah, we're on. >> Sorry. [LAUGH] >> Welcome back. And welcome to the capstone, and congratulations. By the very fact that you're here, it means you're our most talented and dedicated students, and we just can't wait to see the work that you produce. Of course, our work's over, we're getting ready to head back into the world, into our different hobbies. You're jumping the gun a little bit [LAUGH]. >> As I always do. >> We're going to turn it over to you, we're sitting in the kitchen that used to be the fictional Boulder Bean. Everything's stripped down, we're in our civvies. And we're turning this over to the power of the individual because we believe in you. >> So the capstone is all about you. Essentially it's a project, and you can choose what project you can do. You can do the Clarity Guitars project, which is kind of a case study we developed for you. Or you can do the challenge capstone. The challenge capstone is really open-ended. It's a chance for you to go out into your community and to figure out what kind of presentation, what kind of statement you want to make. Regardless, this is a chance for you to really dive in to the skills you've developed across our three MOOCs. It's a chance for you to explore them and pull them together. >> And it doesn't matter if you going to be working on the Clarity Guitars case study or on the challenge capstone. In either case you'll be working on three individual parts. One is writing a memo, the other is developing a visual identity and presentation, and then giving that presentation to your fellow students. >> We ask you for a draft of these three pieces, but we want to be clear, we're really serious about this, because draft is a little misleading, right? It can seem like it's something that's okay to be sloppy with. We're looking for your best work, we're looking for a polished draft. Because that's how the feedback will really help you and push you to the next level. >> Yeah, it's in those drafting that you really stop becoming a student and you start becoming a teacher. Because what we want you to do is to really refine each individual component. The written part, the design visual part, and then your actual speech. We want you to refine them, but then we want you to grade each other. So your peers are going to grade you and you're going to grade your peers. And it's for a grade, so take it seriously. But each one of those component parts, though you may push yourself in them, they're just a piece of it. Because really the whole thing comes together. And we've put up our own presentation in this module. >> Yes, right. >> So you'll see that we're pushing ourselves too. But the whole thing comes together. And let's face it, this is ultimately about your ability to communicate to the world. So when I say it comes together, I don't mean just some ideas come together. I mean that you're pulling together what you can do, what you can express of who you are. That is so powerful. It essentially is the statement of the self to the world. So take it seriously. Challenge yourself. Drive yourself forward, because this is a chance for you to speak who you are. Onwards. >> No fear, we want you to go for it. >> Go make something beautiful.
