If you want to do some of your own analysis, the easiest way to get into it is to use normal spreadsheet software. It's not as powerful as proper statistical software or computer languages such as Python, Julia, R, but you can get quite a bit done. Now, the most famous of the spreadsheet software is probably Microsoft Excel. It's a commercial product, you'll have to buy it, pay for it. And there's a variety of options, you can buy a box set or you can buy a subscription. Here we have Microsoft Excel on the Mac OS. It's going to look slightly different in the Microsoft Windows version. To do any kind of statistical analysis though, you'll have to install a bit of software that is usually not pre-installed. And when you open Excel you would want to go to Tools, and then down to Excel Add-ins. So, this is on the Mac OS. And when you hit the Excel Add-ins, you're going to see these two pop up. For you, perhaps they will not be checked. The analysis tool pack. And if you would like to resolve as well, click both. And once you've installed those, you can go to Data. And right on side of the ribbon we'll see Data Analysis, which will appear now that we've installed those two add-ons. And you can see the variety of analysis tools that are available. We can draw histograms. We can do linear regression. And we can do a variety of t-tests in this software. So, be sure to do the following, to go to Tools, go down to Excel Add-ins, and add that. In the Windows version, also look for the Excel's Add-in, and you will find the data analysis toolpack there, which means we can do some basic statistical analysis using this software. Now, I'm just going to drag across LibreOffice to this screen here. Let me increase that. This is LibreOffice. If you want to install that, here we go. It is on the website libreoffice.com. It's a full Office Suite, free of charge. It's going to have word processor. It's going to have spreadsheet software. It's going to have presentation, slide show software. Just as any or at least as the leading commercial product, but this is free of charge. And if we go to LibreOffice, we'll see that there is already a data statistics package already installed. You don't have to install anything. And again, we can do some sampling, descriptive statistics, ANOVAs and correlation, regression. We see t-tests, and even the chi square test, all available in LibreOffice. So, if you want to get your hands dirty with some data, work on your own data, do a few of these tests, start off with spreadsheet software.
