[MUSIC] A quote that you will often hear paraphrased in the business community is if you don't build your own dream, someone else will hire you to help build theirs. This is a powerful message worth visiting as you hit road blocks in your journey. However, I want to spend some time on the keyword build. In this course, we're going to talk about structure. To construct a great business, you need create a strong and enduring structure on which to build. My guess is that if you spend enough time asking business owners what would be the various components of a business that they felt constituted structure, you'd get a wide variety of answers. However, we'll be covering four major topic areas that we feel are foundational in the business creation process. Once again, I'd like to address the fact that no two businesses are alike, and although there are often similarities, you'll discover unique circumstances that will affect your venture along the way. Let's take a minute to go over the four components of business structure that we'll cover in this course. In module one, we will be talking about the topic of financials. Specifically we will talk about setting up the three main financial statements, income statement, the balance sheet and the statement of cash flows. In module two, we will cover the basics of the incorporation process and what is necessary to form a legal entity that is optimized for your business circumstance. We will then transition to the topic of intellectual property in module three and its role in the business creation process. And last but certainly not least we'll talk about the importance of building a solid founding team. In module four we'll cover the topic of recruiting complimentary team members as well as the topic of ownership shares and using equity to recruit top talent.
