In this lesson, we'll be reviewing a tool library. After completing this lesson, you'll be able to review a tool library. Let's carry on with the file from our previous example, and let's do a double check on our tool library to ensure that we have all the tools laid out in our process plan. So from our file, we're going to go to manage and tool library. If we take a look at the tools in the current document, we've only used two at this point, tool number 10, 0.5 inch flat end mill and tool number 8, the quarter-inch. But we want to identify our CAD CAM specialization library that we either used in the Cloud or locally. Inside here we need to make sure that we have a few things. We need to ensure that we have a chamfer mill, and you can see here that tool number 5 is an eighth inch chamfer mill. We need to ensure that we have a number 7 drill. You can see that tool number 3 is a number 7. We need to make sure that we have a right-hand quarter 20 tap. Now at this point, we already knew what our tool library was and we were able to identify those, and include the tool numbers inside of our process plan. But in many cases, you'll be picking out tools based on a large list of tools that you might have in your shop, and then applying those to your process plan. If we needed to identify what tools to use, we would need to come in and use tools such as inspect measure, figure out what the radius is on internal corners. For example, this one has a 1,875 radius. So we need to ensure that the tool that we're going to use to finish that has a smaller radius, so that we don't have chatter when we're engaging the corner. So in this case, we have a finishing operation for our contour that comes in and cleans out these corners. So this operation allows us to come back in with that quarter and gen-mill, and clean out the corners. So when we're talking about process planning and planning out our tool list, we need to make sure that we identify the tools that we have available, and which one of those we can apply to the design. It is always important that make sure that we have a strategic plan in terms of the order of operations. Utilizing the same tool as many times as you can before having a tool change. This will ensure that you're making the program as efficient as possible. From here, we have everything we need to get started programming apart. So let's go ahead and save any changes that we might have made before moving on.
