О курсе

Are you trying to understand data from your research? Learn how and when to conduct mediation, moderation, and conditional indirect effects analyses? Or, perhaps, how to theorize and test your theoretical models? If so, this is the course for you! We will walk you through the steps of conducting multilevel analyses using a real dataset and provide articles and templates designed to facilitate your learning. You'll leave with the tools you need to analyze and interpret the results of the datasets you collect as a researcher. By the end of this course, you will understand the differences between mediation and moderation and between moderated mediation and mediated moderation models (conditional indirect effects), and the importance of multilevel analysis. Most important, you will be able to run mediation, moderation, conditional indirect effect and multilevel models and interpret the results. Note: This course is based on Version 2 of SPSS. You can still apply it to the latest version, but it’s no longer an exact match to the current interface. This course is supported by the BRAD Lab at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, which studies organizational behavior, marketing, business ethics, judgment and decision-making, behavioral operations, and entrepreneurship, among other areas. The course consists of examples used to convey the concepts. This adds value and helps in better understanding. The course is definitely very helpful for research students.

This is a wonderful course with a working example on the use of SPSS with the regression based approach in statistical analysis.

There is plenty of room for improvement in this course. This seems less like a course and more like a how to guide. The course can be extended from 3 weeks to 6 weeks to incorporate some explanations and rationales for the steps that are intended to be just followed. The course might improve by helping learners right reports of their analyses. The major area that needs to improve is the assessments. The quizes are not enough to assess the learning of applied skills there has to be at least three to four assignments requiring data analysis. If you incorporate reporting of results in the future editions then please also add one or two peer graded assignments for the same. I really wish this course improves because it has a tremendous potential. This topic is a red hot topic for any social researcher.

Thank you for a good course. However, a lot needs to be added that can fully justify the stated scope of the course. These were isolated topics in data analysis. Useful but isolated and limited. Still, thank you for the great effort.

Explanations need to be more clear, especially analysis of the outputs using HLM tool and IBM Statistical tool.

Very clear explanation from speaker. Exercises given help to deepen understanding of concepts. Honestly speaking, I need to go through this course second or third time or even more in order to catch any missing important points. Thank you.

I enjoyed the course very much. Our instructor Dr. Guarana is a great teacher. He smoothly went through all the topics. The only point that I would like to emphasize is that HLM or Multilevel analysis, which is a very difficult topic could have been elaborated more. But since this course mainly emphasized on Mediation and Moderation, overall it was worth it.

The problem is that the course slides and lectures are not updated to reflect PROCESS updates. Currently course does not match latest version of PROCESS macro. The information on finding and downloading HLM software is not detailed enough. Everything else if OK.

The multi level models are difficult to understand, if we can get some more session on it, it would be helpful.

Thank you so much for the session, they are very helpful and very nicely explained

Good course to understand mediation and moderation better. I would have preferred the last section explaining regression etc with a model on SPSS.

这门课介绍了中介模型、调节模型、有调节的中介模型以及有中介的调节模型、多层模型,老师从概念、实例以及软件操作三个方面入手。这门课较适合适合初学者。

Terrible course. Literally everything that is wrong with statistics. Just a spoken walk-through of how to use some packages. Everything is just "It is significant because the p value says so..".

Circular directions regarding the use of tools to make hands on work meaningful.
