About the Course

Your marketing quest begins here! The first course in this specialization lays the neccessary groundwork for an overall successful marketing strategy. It is separated into two sections: Market Research and Consumer Behavior. Gain the tools and techniques to translate a decision problem into a research question in the Market Research module. Learn how to design a research plan, analyze the data gathered and accurately interpret and communicate survey reports, translating the results into practical recommendations. You will then focus in on the consumer decision-making process, highlighting the key moments from identifying a need to buying and consuming a product. Adopt a true “consumer focus” in your managerial decisions by analyzing how consumers make decisions, what happens (in their hearts and minds) at different stages of the decision making process, and the variables that influence those decisions. This course will equip you with the knowledge required to understand the state of your product before approaching the market strategy. There’s no better place to build the foundations of your marketing journey!...

Thank-you for the course. Amazing professor and his teaching style. Gained a lot of clarity and insight towards how to conduct research, choose a sample, frame hypothesis and avoid making errors.

I am enjoying this course. From start, we are introduced by the professor to know the customer behaviour until the questionnaire design. However, as we know this is only the surface, so we have to learn the other course to develop customer behaviour and marketing research knpwledge. Just want to add one thing, in the week 4, the professor mentioned there is a video ahead, but there is no any video afterward. The display come to the graded quis.

I found that some quite simple aspects were explained too detailed (e.g. the consumer decision process, examples with Tiffany and the three products) while more complex concepts were explained very superficially (e.g. statistics aspects, measurement errors). I think it is a good introduction course but I personally lack more hands-on instruments on investigating the consumer behavior in practice

For a full-time student who had already attended Market Research and Consumer Behaviour (and also Statistics for Business) courses in university, this course is still fundamental and applicable to me. It is not only about the theoretical foundation for a beginner but also provides actual prior applications as a way of example for us to understand better.

First course of the specialisation "Marketing Strategy Specialization".

You will focus on consumer behaviour and decision process then marketing research.

If you are looking for an easy course in order to learn marketing basis, I would not recommend this course which already needs some.

A good course in general with interesting ideas and staging.

A few of the concepts we're not clear and didn't match some of the material that we we're being quizzed on. The presentation material was littered with spelling issues that were distracting and made it hard to concentrate on the information that was being presented. Overall, it was an enjoyable course that could still be improved upon.

This is a nice introductory course of Market Research. It gives a great overview of the process of conducting research and the potential value it has for firms. To be better, I would say that covering the analysis part and how to draw conclusions or inferences from data would be a significant improvement in quality.

The explaination of counsumer behavior part is good. Even though the tiffany's part is a little bit too much. The market research part is not well-organised. It's like an audio book read through all of the content on text book. Learner who is lack of statistic background will find it to be very confused.

Choice of topics were comprehensive and commendable, instructor's tone, explanations, graphics were easy to understand. Additional feedback - the content after week 3 could have been more in-depth as statistical topics covered post week 3 require more time and examples to grasp if explained slowly.

The entire course was conducted very well and the description is easy to understand. The demo (buyer Tiffany) was very good idea and helped to quickly grasp the concept. Use of more and diverse examples to explain the data measurements like the use of scale would prove more helpful. Thanks!

This course was a great informational course on the basics of market research and the market research model. I highly recommend this course for anyone who needs a refresher on the the research methods involved in data collection and analysis methods used in the industry.

It does a good job of going over the broad-strokes of the topic, but there is obviously a lot of space to go more in-depth, which I'm sure other classes do. The tests at the end of each segment sometimes didn't seem to cover the important parts of the studied material.

Market Research and Consumer Behavior It's a really great course, and although I've been doing it for a long time, I've learned a lot from this course. Special thanks to the teacher of this course Mr. Shameek Sinha Sir for conducting this course in such a beautiful way.

The course was helpful. Students should take time rather than skipping the lecture and focus on the topics that were taught in this course. The course has connection with the practical field so it is vital for students who have marketing as their major subject.

I enjoyed the Consumer Behaviour part more, the Market Research part was a bit boring to me. The Instructor had a good knowledge delivery but seemed constrained to cover the topics in details and the course materials were not sufficient to read further on them.

Aunque la tematica está interesante, hay ciertos errores de la plataforma que dificultan el apredizaje como los subtitulos mal sincronizados o la formulacion de algunas preguntas, pero en general es un curso interesante que ayuda a reforzar conocimientos

I really loved the course. It was concise and direct. My high regards to Professor Shameek. And yes, the idea of brining in a real life customer (Tiffany) to explain the concepts better, worked. Thanks. I look forward to learning more.

The course content was fantastic. Professor shameek has a great experience in teaching. I feel personally that Mr sinha was speaking very fast, and I could not get many sentences due to the fast speed. Otherwise a great course

I personally liked the Consumer Behaviour course and it was so crystal clear. However, Market research courses can be a bit more elaborative and you may consider including assignments related to research rather than quiz

Easy to understand for beginners but could possibly have more application videos at the back. A few slides have spelling errors which is different from what the speaker is saying which can cause distraction at times.

Good introduction, would be great if could get download of slides. Covered lots of topics at a high level. Took more than the recommended time - about 1.5x to 2x if you actually take notes and work on the quiz.

Some of the reading material (especially the last one) was way over my head. Needed to be a psychologist to grasp some of the teaching. Otherwise it was very informative and the quizzes were short and sweet.

Thank you for your lectures which provide a lot of helpful knowledge. I think it is better if you add more examples for knowledge related to types of data, sampling...so that it can be easier to understand.
