Associate Program Consultant
Lisa Mount is a writer, developer and presenter of professional development at New Teacher Center, a national nonprofit dedicated to improving student learning by accelerating the effectiveness of new teachers. A graduate of University of California, Santa Cruz, she was a teacher for 23 years, including eight years as an eighth-grade English teacher, and seven years as a literacy specialist. She has also worked as a mentor teacher. Lisa is a former president of the Santa Cruz County Reading Association and is National Board Certified. Over the past two years, Lisa has worked with beginning, veteran, and mentor teachers to implement the Literacy Design Collaborative model to support literacy in the content areas.
