Kirk Huslage currently serves as the Associate Director for the North Carolina Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology (SPICE). He is a principal lecturer at all SPICE infection control courses; a consultant to all healthcare facilities (including nursing homes) in North Carolina on infection prevention issues; and conducts applied research projects in the area of infection prevention and environmental disinfection.

Kirk has a BS in Zoology from North Carolina State University, a BS in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, a MS in Public Health in Environmental Health and Microbiology and a post-graduate certificate in Occupational Health Nursing from the University Of North Carolina Gillings School Of Global Public Health.
