Dr. KES MCCORMICK is an Associate Professor at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University, Sweden as well as an Honorary Fellow at the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute (MSSI) at Melbourne University, Australia. He works in the fields of sustainability, governance, cities and greening the economy. He has produced over 100 publications (with over 100,000 downloads from Lund University Publications). He has published several edited books and special issues with colleagues including Urban Living Labs (Routledge 2018) and Smart and Sustainable Cities (Local Environment 2019). He is the program coordinator for Sharing Cities Sweden (Swedish Innovation Agency) – a national program for the sharing economy in cities. He is also a member of the management teams for Naturvation (Horizon 2020) and Transform (Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council), and an active participant in Viable Cities on Smart and Sustainable Cities (Swedish Energy Agency). He is a teacher and coordinator in international Masters programs and a lead teacher in 2 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) with over 150,000 participants in some 200 countries on greening the economy focusing on lessons from Scandinavia and sustainable cities. He is leading the development of 2 further MOOCs on sharing cities and urban nature.
