Fernán A. Villa is a Professor in Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Sede Medellín, Colombia. He received the Engineering degree in Computer and Systems Engineering in 2008, the MS degree in Systems Engineering in 2010 and the PhD in Engineering in 2016, all of them from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. His current research interests are in the areas of computer science, data science, epidemiology, public health, artificial intelligence, big data, analytics and internet of things; all of them with a strong emphasis in Python and R programming and UML Modeling. He is a member of the Big Data & Data Analytics research group, registered in COLCIENCIAS, at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He has many contributions in data analytics and software engineering for electricity markets, epidemiology, public health and exposure science. His last award was "ISES-ISEE 2018 New Researchers Abstracts Awards" in "Exposure Science" area.
