Bio

Andrew Gruen is a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University's Media Management Center and a Gates Cambridge scholar and PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge where he is studying accountability journalism and media viability in the digital age. He focuses on how modern media organizations can build viability, and how they can do a better job of informing their audiences. Previously he worked for CNET and the BBC as a technology reporter and Hearst Television Inc. as a digital executive producer. He also worked as a special projects producer and advisor to the founder and CEO at OhmyNews, the largest citizen journalism operation in the world based in Seoul, South Korea. While at OhmyNews he was a Henry Luce Foundation scholar.
